Hey flist!!

Anyone around who could give a quick beta on a short 1000 word fic? I have to have it posted in a hour. I know... last minute, right. lol. It just needs possible grammar corrections so it shouldn't (hopefully) take too long.

So, I'm updating on my personal life. I know.. *gasp*. Hee! I don't usually post a lot other than VM related things but I'm going to try and change that : )

I sent my baby off to her first day of school today. *tear* Actually, I teared up but did not cry. I was proud of myself. I guess that just makes me think it was time. Our county has a program at school for children going into kindergarten with June, July, Aug, or Sept. birthdays that they can do a Kindergarten Readiness Class instead of Kindergarten. It's for those children who may not be emotionally, developmentally, or academically ready for Kindergarten but who are past preschool or Pre-K. Academically she's fine... probably better than fine, but she's really small for her age and pretty shy. Also, besides church classes, she's never been in a setting with other children. We feel very fortunate that we were offered such a program and have been very happy thus far.

Since baby girl is going off to school, I guess I'll be getting a part time job. There is no use me sitting at home when I can at least work part time. The extra spending money will be great. I just hope it doesn't cut into my yoga class time, lol. I might have to re-think my availability.

I've been trying to work through some writer's block so I've been watching more TV than usual. I seriously LOVE Dark Blue. I haven't seen a show for a really long time (probably since VM) that got me from the get-go. This one is awesome!

So a couple of people on my flist are into Friday Night Lights and I have to say, I just can't get into it. I've tried... I've really, really tried, two different times in fact, but I just can't do it.

I've been terrible about birthday's lately. Sorry to those I've missed : ( To katjs11 , fire_fly_stare - I hope you had wonderful b'days!! And to juliet42 and celtic_flicka... I hope your b'days are wonderful!!!!

Did anyone else watch that new show on TNT called "Dark Blue?" I really liked it and was wondering if anyone else had any thoughts.


I've been hitting the fic front hard the last couple nights (writing and reading, too, for my fic comm). My brain was starting to become mush but luckily the lovely lemomina came along with a meme and rescued me. At least for a bit, anyway : )

1- What's the dream that you have but you know it will never come true?
This is a hard one because I'm one of those people who never says never. I believe that you can do anything you put your heart, mind and soul into. So I guess I'll have to say nothing. I have lots of dreams and sometimes holding onto those is what gets me through the day. I'm not saying that I'm going to do anything great or whatever but I have to have hope that if it's something I want bad enough, I can do what it takes to get there : )

2-What do you hate most about being a mother?
Worrying that every little thing I do/say or don't do/say might scar her for life. I'm a little bit more laid back now, but a year ago I was so afraid I was doing everything wrong or not doing enough. Making sure she eats the right things, gets enough sleep, learns enough stuff, plays with other kids the right amount of time... all these things have me constantly worrying.

3- If you have to choose between living in Water ( Oceans & seas ) or Living in Space , Which would you choose & why?!
I really like them both but I'd have to say the ocean if I had to pick. I'm a Pisces and we are naturally drawn to water. Plus I love swimming, boating, laying at the beach... pretty much anything that has to do with water.

4- What's the ship that you HATE SO MUCH and can't understand how people ship it?
There are several ships that I really hate... Veronica/Lamb, Veronica/Piz, Logan/Mac, etc., and although I don't agree with them, I can see how people might ship them. But Veronica/Dick?!?!? Come on. Not in a million years.

5-whats your fave Movie Ever?
"The Little Princess" The original one with Shirley Temple. I don't cry very often but that movie gets me every time. It's such an incredible story.

Hello all!

I apologize for my absence of late. First I was putting my nose to the grindstone on a fic, and then last week I came down with a stomach virus/flu, whatever. I have to tell you, I haven't been that sick in years. Today was the first day I've eaten anything solid.

I'm sorry I didn't get the second part of "Gaining Ground," posted like I said I was going to. I usually hate to give excuses but I'll have to call in sick on this one. And of course to top it off, I have RL commitments this week that won't be done until Thursday. I'm shooting for posting it this weekend. My biggest apologies go to afrocurl though since it's her fic. Maybe she'll write me a note ; )

So I had writer's block a couple of nights ago. What do I do? I make graphics about my writer's block. Okay, so it made sense in my head : )

I apologize for my lack of commenting lately; Sabrina and I have been busy getting vm_redux off the ground. It's been a great success so far : ) Speaking of... I have new friends!!!!! Thanks to all of you who friended me in the meme and I look forward to getting to know you better.


Okay, and now onto what this post is about ; ) I have seen a couple of people do this so I thought I might try it out. I would like to make a friends filter for those people who would be willing to cheer me on/hold me responsible for weekly fic goals. There will be no reading necessary, I just need some people to make me quit being so lazy. Hee!

( For the second year in a row, I have had the privilege of watching Jason Dohring play golf in the BMW Charity Pro-Am Golf Tournament. )

Let me start off my saying: I have the BEST husband in the world. No, really. I do.

After telling me months ago that he thought we just wouldn't be in the position to go the BMW Charity Golf Tournament like we did last year, he called at five yesterday and asked me if it was still possible to go? I ran around frantically yesterday and this morning to see if we could still get tickets, find a babysitter, and to take care of other previous weekend obligations. I just finished!! So we're going.... leaving in the morning.

Did I mention that my husband is awesome?!?! God bless him.... even though he waited till the last possible moment ; )

JDoh!!! Here I come!! Although, I don't think ANYTHING could top last year, so I'm trying to keep my expectations low : )
